Pre-Game Q&A
PRE-GAME Q & A

Hello all! We're so excited to finally share Peckenpaugh with you. As we move toward our September 1st start date, we'd like to ensure that all of the setting resources are clear, concise and informative. There're a whole lot of words here, but we may've left some important gaps that need filling in. Sometimes, this is intentional. Sometimes, it isn't. So, as you're reading, if you have questions about anything at all, please ask them here. We're looking for setting and rules questions in particular on this post. If you have a question about your own character concepts, please refer to the Dropbox or email for those.
We'll be answering questions here up until the end of August, so feel free to keep asking whenever you think of something! We may edit certain questions into our FAQ, or update items within the setting, itself, also, if we feel it would be beneficial. This post is unscreened, so all questions will be public. If you'd like to ask a question privately, please do so in the Dropbox or via email. While we encourage you to ask follow up questions, tangential questions or for elaboration if you want to, we want to keep this post readable, and ask that you please keep all off topic discussion on the OOC Chatter Post. Thank you! We appreciate it!

Core Classes
Re: Core Classes
OOC, core classes are not mandatory. We'd like to see players enrolling each character in one or two of them, but we don't want to get in the way of anyone making a particular, specialized schedule.
In character, the three core classes are strongly encouraged for all years as they are seen as foundational to a student of magic's education, but they are not mandatory after freshman year. You can assume that Dr. Quirke or a Head of House would've stepped in to gently guide a student toward building a schedule that was either very specialized or very well rounded.
I just edited our FAQ to make that more explicit here.
Re: Core Classes
thanks!
Applications?
Re: Applications?
Bottleby, Ilvermorny and Peckenpaugh are all pretty straightforward about following these guidelines. Vercoer, though, does use loopholes in this process to weed out potential academic under-performers right from the get go, "losing" paperwork or claiming they don't have the room. It's a shady practice, but they've gotten away with it for generations.
