Hey y’all! Happy Spooky Friday the 13th. We know the game’s only just started, but would you look at the time? We’re a mere two weeks away from adding sophomores and third characters to the mix. It’s creeping up on us real fast, so we wanted to get some information out there for everyone in the lead up.

• Sophs & third characters are open to anyone provided you are able to meet activity check this month and are not on hiatus. So make sure you’ve got your ducks in a row with the characters you have before putting in a hold. You can check out the activity requirements here.


• Third characters and sophomores cannot join active play until October 1st. For sophomores, in particular, this is because their journals are not working. Even if you complete your application early, you’ll have to wait.


• We’re particularly interested in seeing sophomores! In order to give the class a sense of cohesion, we’ve got a few plot ideas for our chaos babies to chase as a group through our second month of play.


• At this time, we will not be upping caps on any special classes or clubs. So you’re still working within the current limits framework. When fourths roll around, we may up caps on some of the Advanced Study classes, but none of the Specialty classes will have their class sizes increased.


• Same deal with character position limits. You can still only have two per year, two per house, one captain, one club president, etc.


• Only take a third character if you’ve got a solid idea and think you can handle it. We’re never going to encourage people to rush to the character cap just because they can. It’s so much more rewarding, and less stressful, to wait for an idea you really love to come along.


• We’re going to be advertising the game this weekend. So we’re asking that players forego a holds interest spreadsheet at this time as we do anticipate some fresh holds in the coming weeks and cannot guarantee that you’ll get a name your heart is set on between now and then. However, we really want to hear about your concepts and what you’re hoping to play. So tell us in the comments below!


• HOLDS WILL OPEN SATURDAY, 9/21 @ 8am PT / 11am EST. That means you get one full hold cycle to hand in an application before you can begin playing your sophomore/third.
